FOUR CSVPA STUDENTS SHORTLISTED FOR SEVEN GRADUATE FASHION WEEK AWARDS

Graduate Fashion Week is a staple in the calendar for CSVPA’s BA Fashion and BA Fashion Branding & Creative Communications students. The flagship event for the Graduate Fashion Foundation (GFF), Graduate Fashion Week (GFW) is the largest showcase of BA fashion in the world. Held annually, GFW attracts thousands of influential guests who gather to witness the extraordinary new talent entering the industry.

Taking place between the 10th and 13th June 2024, and held at Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, GFW features a packed schedule of catwalk shows, university exhibitions, talks, masterclasses, and workshops led by highly respected names in the world of fashion and retail.

Following on from last year’s success, which saw CSVPA students’ talent recognised through an incredible total of five awards at GFW 2023, with four impressive winners in the highly esteemed Vivienne (Westwood) Foundation Competition. This year, we are thrilled to announce that four of our talented students have been nominated for a remarkable seven awards.

Lisa

“I felt extremely excited and proud of myself when I found out I had been shortlisted for these GFW awards. I’m looking forward to seeing my collection on the catwalk. My main inspiration was the Armenian film ‘The Colour of Pomegranates’. It’s about Armenian heritage, and the film itself is very avant-garde. The film is about androgyny as well, which inspired me as each outfit can be worn by either man or women.”

Holly

“I am both grateful and humbled to have been shortlisted for the GFW Awards. It’s an exciting opportunity to introduce and present my final major, which revolves around the transition to an eco-modern world. It excites me to be able to present this project to a panel of judges from the current fashion industry and network with others attending the event.”

Arif

“Taking part in Graduate Fashion Week means a lot to me, it’s giving me the chance to put myself out there, come out of my shell and step foot into the industry”

These awards hold great significance as they are judged by industry professionals and ambassadors, lending further weight to the achievements of our students. Being nominated for these awards is incredibly competitive, with our students having been selected from approximately 2,000 graduates.
