Fashion student Charlotte Lamb wins three Graduate Fashion Week awards

Charlotte Susan Lamb, a BA Fashion student at CSVPA, has taken home three awards at Graduate Fashion Week 2023.

In a competition featuring 68 renowned institutions and approximately 3000 students, Charlotte managed to win the Highly Commended in Considered Fashion Award, the Vivienne Foundation Award and Winner of the Collective Show and selected for the prestigious Best of Show Gala, beating over 400 collections.

Watch Charlotte’s entire collection on the runway, as the first student featured in this video:

Charlotte’s collection is named ‘A stitch in time waits for no man’, and is inspired by wartime Britain.

Charlotte said “The concept behind it was from samples sent home from my great grandad in a prisoner-of-war camp in World War II . It’s sort of a play on British heritage in my own way”.

The collection features embroidery which has been painstakingly undertaken for many months, showcasing various English flowers. Repurposing second-hand charity shop fabrics and domestic fabrics, the woolen pieces mixed with embroidery are clearly reminiscent of the 1940’s era.

“Me attending CSVPA has definitely helped me achieve all of this. I couldn’t have done it without the amazing team behind me.”

Of course, this is just the beginning for the talented 22-year-old, who has already made her mark within the fashion industry. Charlotte hopes to initially ‘find her feet’ within the industry, before perhaps starting her own label or business.
