Vivian Choi

Piano Tutor

Vivian grew up in Hong Kong and was awarded an Associated Board Scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music. She subsequently obtained an MMus in Music Theory and Analysis from Kings College, London and a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) in Piano Performance from State University of New York at Stony Brook.  

As a pianist, she won many international, national and collegiate awards including First Prize at the Washington International Competition. She has broadcast and performed as soloist at venues such as City Hall, Hong Kong, The Kennedy Centre, Washington DC, St Martin in the Fields, London and Cambridge West Road Concert Hall. 

Vivian is passionate about helping young musicians and performers realise their musical and creative gifts fully. She has taught at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Anglia Ruskin University and has coached pianists and chamber music for University of Cambridge. She is currently teaching at the Junior Department, Royal College of Music and at CSVPA where she helped many students successfully gain places at top music colleges and universities.
