Julian is a designer-maker and future technologist. He graduated from Camberwell School of Art, BA (Hons) Silversmithing and Metalwork in 1992, and went on to start his furniture design company, Joe Design.  

Julian became an active member of New Designers in Business. Exhibiting at dedicated shows at the Royal Festival Hall, Mode at the Business Design Centre, Bonhams Contemporary Applied Arts, and many times representing British Design at the Ideal Home Show, his artwork has been featured in The Telegraph, The Mail on Sunday, and Elle Decoration, amongst other publications. 

His work has developed over the years to incorporate new practices of additive manufacturing and parametric design. He now works predominantly as a metal sculptor using emerging technologies to explore form.    

Before joining CSVPA three years ago, Julian taught for 11 years at Loughborough University, on their BA and MA Art and Design courses. In this role, he worked across many disciplines, including Jewellery and Silversmithing, Furniture and Ceramics.
