Acting (1-2 weeks)
This Acting programme at CSVPA is designed for students aged 14 and over who want to build a strong foundation in acting technique, learning directly from working professional performers with real industry experience.
Through research, intensive tuition, rehearsals, and a final performance, students become acquainted with the skills that serve as a perfect starting point for further study, developing their craft in voice, movement, improvisation, ensemble work, text work, and stagecraft.
By the end of the course, students will understand basic acting techniques, gain experience working as part of an ensemble, develop playfulness, improvisation, and devising skills, and understand a range of activities involved in developing and delivering a performance.

LEARN FROM ART AND DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
Our lecturers are all working professionals who will bring valuable industry experience to the programme. Students will enjoy 30 hours of tuition per week comprised of workshops and rehearsals working towards a final performance.
BROADEN YOUR SKILLS IN THE INDUSTRY
Through research, intensive tuition, rehearsals and a final performance, you will become
acquainted with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future
education in the performing arts. Throughout the course you will become familiar with acting, voice, movement, improvisation and ensemble work.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
Students enjoy a variety of evening activities each week designed to be fun, interactive and provide our students with the opportunity to socialise and make new friends. One full day excursion each week allows students to really get to know the UK. We use major destinations such as London as a classroom, where students will enjoy creative and cultural experiences through guided walks and visits to museums and other places of interest.
PROGRESSION AT CSVPA
Completion of the course can enable progression on to our Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses, awarded by University of the Arts London Awarding Body (if you meet the UAL entry criteria for the course).
PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
This course is taught in English, and students are asked to communicate with each other in English, giving our international students the perfect opportunity to practice their English speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.
COURSE OUTCOMES
You will gain an understanding of basic acting techniques.
You will experience working as part of an ensemble and developing the skills of playfulness, improvisation and devising.
You will understand a range of methods to develop and deliver a performance.
At the end of the course, you will have the opportunity to perform in front of your fellow Summer School students.

Who is it for
The course is aimed at any student aged 14 to 18 years who is interested in performing and developing their acting skills. Completion of the course can enable progression on to our University of the Arts London Awarding Body Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses.
English Level
International students should have at least an Upper Intermediate level of English.
