Film Making (1-2 weeks)
This course will give you real insight into many aspects of film making and the world of film. Whilst being fun and informative, you will leave with a real sense of achievement as the course culminates in the screening of your own film.
Through workshops, group projects and practical tasks, you will become acquainted with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future education and possible careers in the Film and TV production industry. By the end of the course, students will have explored a range of practical and theoretical themes connected to the film, television, and animation industries, solved creative briefs using techniques guided by experienced staff, and used industry-standard equipment and software to produce their own short films.

LEARN FROM ART AND DESIGN PROFESSIONALS
The Film Making programme is led by working professional filmmakers who bring real industry experience to the classroom. Students enjoy 30 hours of tuition per week comprised of lectures and creative practical workshops working towards a final presentation.
BROADEN YOUR SKILLS IN THE INDUSTRY
Through workshops, group projects and practical tasks, you will become acquainted with the skills and knowledge that will serve as a perfect starting point for future education and possible careers in the Film and TV production industry. Throughout the course you will become familiar with storyboarding, visual effects, special effects and animation along with relevant software such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS
Students enjoy a variety of evening activities each week designed to be fun, interactive and provide our students with the opportunity to socialise and make new friends. One full day excursion each week allows students to really get to know the UK. We use major destinations such as London as a classroom, where students will enjoy creative and cultural experiences through guided walks and visits to museums and other places of interest.
PROGRESSION AT CSVPA
Completion of the course can enable progression on to our Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses awarded by University of the Arts London (UAL) Awarding Body (if you meet the UAL entry criteria for the course).
PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS
This course is taught in English, and students are asked to communicate with each other in English, giving you the perfect opportunity to practice your English speaking, listening, writing and reading skills.
COURSE OUTCOMES
You will have explored a range of practical and theoretical themes connected to the film, television and animation industries.
You will have had the opportunity to solve creative briefs through a range of techniques and skills guided by our highly experienced staff.
You will have gained experience using industry standard equipment including cameras and editing software.

Who is it for
The course is aimed at any student aged 14 to 18 years who is interested in the film, television and animation industries and who wants to experience a moving image education in the UK. Completion of the course guarantees progression on to our University of the Arts London Awarding Body Extended Diploma or Foundation Diploma courses.

Minimum English standard: Equivalent to IELTS 5.0/ Intermediate
