Monday BREAKFAST Drawing on location. We will warm up with contemporary drawing techniques exploring contour line drawing with a range of dry media. Drawing will take place on a walking tour of Cambridge: possible locations may include market square, Round Church street, the riverside. LUNCH Drawing on location. The afternoon will continue exploring movement and gestural drawing approach. The emphasis will be placed on self-expression and observation. DINNER Evening Activities
Tuesday BREAKFAST Drawing in the museum. Concentrating on tonal drawing using Cambridge's rich museums as inspiration. Possible locations may include Museum of Zoology. Archeology and Anthropology, Sedgwick, Fitzwilliam museum. LUNCH Drawing in the museum. Emphasis on composition and the use of viewfinder. We will explore interesting angles of constructing a drawing. DINNER Evening Activities
Wednesday BREAKFAST Day at the studio. We will use the drawings created in the first two days to create expressive artworks inspired by a brief. The techniques explored in the studio may include printmaking, collage, mixed media drawing, enlarging drawings and using various tools etc. LUNCH Day at the studio. The morning work will be continued to finalise the works of art. DINNER Evening Activities
Thursday BREAKFAST Drawing a human. This workshop will include drawing a model, who can be clothed or wearing a costume. A series of exercises will assist the learning of various drawing skills. LUNCH Painting still life. This workshop will introduce the use of paint and mixed media to paint still life composition. DINNER Evening Activities
Friday BREAKFAST Painting. Last day of the course will explore creating a drawing or painting from imagination. Various tools can be used. LUNCH Painting. Last day of the course will explore creating a drawing or painting from imagination. Various tools can be used. The certificates will be awarded. DINNER Evening Activities
