Every year, during the months of June, July and August, students from across the world come to our school to take part in our Summer courses.
Our fun and informative programmes prepare students for future academic study while exploring Cambridge and surrounding areas.
We caught up with one of our Summer School alumni, who took part in our Portfolio Preparation programme and now studies at our school full-time.
Here's Laura's experience...
"I think the Portfolio Preparation course should be considered by anyone who wants to apply to a university. It gave me a good understanding of how the preparation process works and what should be included.
Having different subjects throughout the weeks and trying different media also helps to expand creativity. You find out you're good at something you wouldn't know you're good at, because maybe you haven't had the chance to try it before. The tutors were all very nice and helpful, and gave good advice when needed.
The evening activities were also a lot of fun and a great way to connect with other people on the course. I have made some amazing friends during the 3 weeks. The whole environment of the school and Cambridge itself literally radiates the creative energy. The tutors really care about what you do and you feel very motivated.
I felt I've learned more about art in those 3 weeks than ever before in any art class or course. All of this lead me to the decision of applying to this school for Foundation. Many of the tutor, who taught during the course were also teaching at Foundation and after some conversations with them I was certain about my decision. I am happy to say that I'm very happy I made this decision and would recommend CSVPA's Portfolio Course to anyone."
