For aspiring musicians and musical professionals, hard work and competition is nothing new. Recently, CSVPA Music Foundation Course Leader Liz Nantais led a webinar outlining the many ways in which the CSVPA music foundation programme prepares students to successfully audition for music colleges and university programmes. Keep reading to learn more about the most important points of the webinar.

Where Can a Pathway Programme in Music Take You?

There are two main paths of progression for students in music foundation programmes. Many students come to CSVPA with the intention of applying to one of nine top music colleges in the UK:

  • Royal Academy of Music
  • Royal College of Music
  • Guildhall School of Music and Drama
  • Royal Northern College of Music
  • Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance
  • Birmingham Conservatoire
  • Royal Conservatoire of Scotland
  • Royal Welsh Conservatoire of Music and Drama
  • Leeds College of Music

“The reason a lot of students are interested in these music colleges is because they offer a lot of opportunity for performance,” says Nantais. “These colleges offer more individual lessons and they focus very specifically on performance training.”
