BA (HONS) FASHION SCHOLARSHIP IN ASSOCIATION WITH HARPER'S BAZAAR 

Terms and conditions:

1.  THE PROMOTER

The promoter is: Cambridge Arts & Sciences Limited trading as Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts Limited of Kett House, Station Road, Cambridge, CB1 2JH (“CSVPA”).

2.  THE COMPETITION

2.1  The title of the competition is: Scholarship and Internship for BA (Hons) Fashion accredited by Falmouth University

2.2  Applicants must submit a 500 word statement of their interest in the scholarship and their passion for Fashion along with a portfolio.  

3.  HOW TO ENTER  

3.1  The competition will run from 30th January 2019 (the “Opening Date”) to midnight on 30th June 2019 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

3.2  All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than midnight on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified. 

3.3  To enter the competition, download a copy from our competition website at www.csvpa.com/apply/Scholarships and send the completed entry form to studentadvice@ceg-uk.com  by the Closing Date.

3.4  The Promoter will not accept:

(a)  responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any postal failure, equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or

(b)  proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

3.5  By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.7   The competition entries will be initially sorted and selected by the CSVPA course leader, Dean and Rector. Selected candidates will then be interviewed by a panel comprising of representatives from Hearst Magazines UK and/or Harper’s Bazaar UK magazine and CSVPA.. The decision of the panel of judges (acting reasonably) will be final.

3.8  The Promoter will send the full names of the judges to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the judges and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out in clause 1. 

4.  ELIGIBILITY  

4.1  The competition is only open to all citizens and residents in the UK aged 18+, except:

(a)  employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies;

(b)  employees of agents or suppliers of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

(c)  members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

4.2  You will have to meet these minimum education requirements in order to be eligible for this. Ideally applicants should have achieved, or be working towards achieving one of the educational entry requirements below:

  • 2 A levels passes equivalent to 64 UCAS points
  • 1 A level pass grade C or above and a pass at Foundation Diploma
  • Pass grade at UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma
  • Pass grade at BTEC Extended Diploma
  • IELTS 5.5+ (with no element below 5.5)

4.3  In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

4.4  If you are under the age of 18, you must obtain written parental or guardian consent to enter and claim your prize. The Promoter may ask the winner to provide proof of age.

4.5  There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.

5.  THE PRIZE  

5.1  The prize will be awarded to one winner, who will win:

  • Free tuition to study the BA (Hons) Fashion course in September 2019, 2020, 2021;
  • Up to a 4 week internship including travel expenses up to £700 starting in April 2020.

5.2  Please note that the winner has to accept the internship, which may be extended at the discretion of Hearst Magazines, UK and Harper’s Bazaar.

5.3  The prize does not include domestic travel to and from the school outside of the agreed internship period or meals or accommodation

5.4 The prize winner must maintain good academic and personal standing during their course to remain eligible for the scholarship. Students found guilty of academic and/or personal misconduct during their course will be deemed ineligible for the award and may be asked to leave, or may be liable for the full course tuition fees.

6.  WINNER 

6.1  The decision of the judges nominated by the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.2  The Promoter will contact the winner personally, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry.  

6.3  The Promoter will send the name and county of the winner to anyone who writes within one month after the Closing Date of the competition requesting details of the winner and who encloses a self-addressed envelope to the address set out in clause 1 from the Announcement Date for a period of 10 days.

6.4 The Winner is required to become an Ambassador for their College, although this requirement may be waived by CSVPA. Student Ambassador responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  1. Pre-departure interviews for new students;
  2. Attending, blogging, vlogging and taking interviews at recruitment events and fairs
  3. Attending, blogging, vlogging and taking interviews at open days, school events and shows
  4. Participating or featuring in press, print and digital interviews, events, PR and marketing content with Hearst Magazines UK, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan if required.
  5. Marketing content during and after completing their CSVPA course including testimonials, blog content, social media updates, acting as an ambassador through online and event-based marketing activity, digital photographs and video images, and other content as deemed reasonable by Cambridge Education Group and agreed with the recipient;

6.5  By entering this competition, you consent to CSVPA using your likeness in a photograph, video, or other digital media in any of its publications, including web-based publications, without payment or other consideration.

7.  CLAIMING THE PRIZE  

7.1  The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within 5 of days of the Announcement Date, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the correct entries that were received before the Closing Date.

7.2  The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

8.  LIMITATION OF LIABILITY  

8.1  Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

8.2  Providing a scholarship in no way confers financial responsibility on behalf of CSVPA towards the recipient, and scholarship winners must still demonstrate satisfactory financial support to secure their visa (where required) and meet all financial obligations incurred throughout.

9.  OWNERSHIP OF COMPETITION ENTRIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS  

9.1  All competition entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoter will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.

9.2  By submitting your competition entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:

(a)  assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and

(b)  waive all moral rights, in and to your competition entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

10.  DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY  

10.1  The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the privacy policy: https://www.cambridgeeducationgroup.com/about-us/privacy-policy.htm

10.2  Each applicant’s data may be shared between CSVPA, CEG and Hearst Magazines, UK, for the purpose of choosing and interviewing a winner.

11.  GENERAL  

11.1  If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

11.2  The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so. 

11.3  These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11.4  CSVPA reserves the right to make such enquiries as are thought to be necessary concerning any application and may attach certain conditions to a grant.

 

Extended Diploma in creative media production & technology IN ASSOCIATION WITH cosmopolitan

2.1  The title of the competition is: Scholarship and Internship for a University of Arts London (UAL), level3, extended diploma in creative media, production and technology.

2.2  Applicants must submit a 500 word statement of their interest in the scholarship and their passion for animation, film or games.  

3.  HOW TO ENTER  

3.1  The competition will run from 30th January 2019 (the “Opening Date”) to midnight on 30th June 2019 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.

3.2  All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than midnight on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

  • A minimum of 4 x GCSE’s at grade C or above, at least one of which should be in a media or art and design subject, or an equivalent overseas qualification; or

  • IELTS 4.5+ (no element under 4.0).

4.3  In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

  • Free CSVPA accommodation;
  • Free meals which are provided through the school canteen; and
  • Up to a 4 week internship including travel expenses up to £700 starting in April 2020.

5.2  Please note that the winner has to accept the internship, which may be extended at the discretion of Hearst Magazines, UK and Cosmopolitan.

5.3  The prize does not include domestic travel to and from the school outside of the agreed internship period or meals not catered for within the school canteen or accommodation.
