I’ve really enjoyed my time at CSVPA. When I came to look around, I was felt that there was a nice atmosphere. It’s homely and friendly and everyone is really kind. I’d also seen the Fashion shows around Cambridge and had always been impressed by them, so I knew that Fashion was a really strong subject here and really liked the fact that the foundation here allows you to really concentrate on what you want to do.

I have friends at other colleges, so I know how Art Foundations can be taught. At some places, you find yourself with only two hours teaching time a week which is definitely not enough. The teaching is a strong point at CSVPA - you get a lot of tutor time but at the same time you’re free to explore what you want to do, you are free to be creative.

The international feel really adds something to the collegee. It’s quite strange at first, but it’s allowed me to experience and see things that I would never have got if I’d gone elsewhere. Everyone puts something different into the pot, some people are more creative and out there, some people are more technical, depending on how they have been taught in the past and where they’re from.

Everything at CSVPA is so diverse. The people, the subjects you can choose and the things you can do. There are so many opportunities and so many different people to meet, it’s quite inspirational really.

Lexi is currently undertaking a BA in Fashion Design at the University of Falmouth.
