"I am now more mature and ready for the RADA challenge"
Where are they now?
Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London
Carlyss Houghton and Emily Peers - not one, but two Drama Foundation students from CSVPA won places on the sought-after acting degree course at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London.
Carlyss and Emily were two of only 32 successful students (16 male and 16 female), out of more than 2000 applicants - an unprecedented achievement.
Carlyss talks about the course:
"From audition feedback, I knew that, vocally I had to improve a lot this year. My voice needed colour and freedom and Rebecca’s teaching helped me immensly.
I recognise that I am now more mature and ready for the RADA challenge. The foundation course has given me a much needed opportunity to build confidence and to find that objective perspective needed.
It provided the perfect atmosphere in which to explore ways of expressing, make a fool of yourself and be encouraged to explore more. None of the students were here to be perfect, but rather to find a range of different and often interesting and unexpected answers, all correct, to the questions we all have."
