Art & Design Pre-Master's

Master’s degrees in the UK are short, intense learning experiences which demand a high level of independence and a specific set of learning skills. Our Art & Design Pre-Master’s programme is designed specifically for international students to prepare them for the transition to the UK way of learning.

It is designed to bridge the gap between your current experience and abilities with your ambition to study at postgraduate level. Emphasis is placed on encouraging you to become an independent learner and confident within the English-speaking educational culture.

The programme will help you to develop your spoken English in order to achieve the required level for direct entry onto a Master’s. It will also give you the experience you need and understanding of UK learning and teaching styles, to help you develop your portfolio further and build on existing skills or develop potential lines of research.

Students undertaking this course should already have an undergraduate degree (in a related or different Art & Design subject) from an overseas university. The Pre-Master's programme itself is tailored to suit your artistic discipline, e.g. fashion, photography, graphic design or fine art.
