I found CSVPA on the internet whilst I was living in London. I wanted to study drama somewhere quieter and more relaxing, so Cambridge was perfect.

I auditioned for some university Drama courses, but my English wasn’t good enough. The International Drama Foundation was ideal as it provided 20 hours of English teaching a week, including Received Pronunciation, articulation and IELTS preparation, which are all essential for entry to a UK university Drama School.

I chose to come to the UK to study as I wanted to learn the English language. But when I got here, I also saw how many big and famous theatres there are here and how much respect the British have for theatre, and I decided to stay to study Drama. Also, the degree course here takes 3 years, whereas it takes 5 years in Spain.

My English has really improved since I arrived. I have much less of an accent and my grammar is much better and my vocabulary has expanded.

The facilities at CSVPA are great; especially with IT. There are computers everywhere and Internet access throughout the college. Also, we get to practice and study in the famous Footlights theatre, I love it, there’s so much history.

Also, the class sizes are really small, we have a maximum of eight people and it’s not unusual to be in a class of only 4-5 people. All the students are really close, and we get to know the teachers really well.

My main ambition at the moment is to get into a Drama School in the UK. I have applied for LAMDA, Bristol Old Vic and East 15. My Personal Tutor has been a massive help. He started preparing me for the UCAS process from week one, and was a massive help for my Personal Statement.

I think that the CSVPA Drama Foundation course is one of the best in the UK. The breadth of the course was a real draw; we study all aspects of Drama. For example, at the moment we are studying Pantomime, which is a whole new subject for me.
